Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data CortexPlus collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the CortexPlus website, the web app, the iOS and Android apps, the browser extension, the API and integrations with AI assistants.
CortexPlus is operated by Thiago Magro, Brazil, who is the controller of your personal data under Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD).
Data we collect
- Account: e-mail address, name (optional), password (stored only as a hash), language and timezone.
- Memories you save: text, titles, tags, comments, photos, videos, audio recordings, files and links, plus the transcriptions, descriptions and structured data (for example, finance entries) generated from them.
- Location: only if you allow it, the place where a memory was created is saved with that memory.
- Devices and sessions: device name and platform, used to show and manage your signed-in devices, and a push-notification token if you enable notifications.
- Billing: if you buy a paid plan, payment is handled by Stripe. We receive the plan and payment status, never your full card number.
- Technical data: request logs (such as IP address and time) kept for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting.
How we use it
- To store, organize and sync your memories across your devices.
- To provide AI features: transcribing audio, describing images, extracting text and structured data, and answering searches.
- To send the e-mails you request (sign-in codes, account notices) and the reminders and notifications you enable.
- To process payments, prevent abuse and keep the service secure.
We do not sell your data, do not show ads and do not use your memories to train AI models.
AI processing
Audio transcription runs on our own servers. To describe images, classify memories, extract data and answer searches, the relevant content is sent to AI model providers through OpenRouter, and text embeddings for search are generated with OpenAI. These providers process the content only to return the result to CortexPlus.
Your storage and integrations
If you connect Local storage (a computer running the CortexPlus storage app), copies of your originals are kept on that computer, under your control. If you create API keys or connect an AI assistant (for example via MCP), that assistant can read and write the memories the key allows; its own privacy policy applies to what it does with them. You can revoke keys at any time in Settings.
App permissions
The mobile apps ask for permissions only when you use the related feature: microphone (voice notes), camera and photo library (capturing and backing up photos), location (saving where a memory was created) and notifications (reminders). You can change these at any time in your device settings.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. Memories you delete are removed from the service; copies may remain in backups for a limited time until they are overwritten. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time in Settings → Delete account, in the app or on the web; deletion is immediate and also cancels any paid subscription. You can also ask us by writing to the contact address below. Records we must keep by law (such as payment records held by Stripe) are retained only as required.
Your rights
Under the LGPD and similar laws, you can request confirmation of processing, access, correction, portability, anonymization or deletion of your data, information about sharing, and withdrawal of consent. Send your request to the contact address below.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are stored as hashes, and access to production systems is restricted. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the authorities of relevant incidents as required by law.
Children
CortexPlus is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version; for significant changes we will notify you in the app or by e-mail.
