What "indexed content" means

Storage is how much room your files take. Indexed content is how much of that text stays searchable — the part CortexPlus reads, splits and keeps in the search index so any AI can find it in milliseconds.

They move independently. A one-hour video can be gigabytes of storage but only a few pages of transcript to index. A folder of contracts is a few megabytes and tens of thousands of pages.

The Subscription indexes ~375 books — roughly a decade of email, every document you wrote at work, or reference material on the subject you care about.

A page is about 500 words. Nothing is deleted when the index fills up: older material stays stored and you can re-index or extend it whenever you want.

How space works

  1. Every plan has 5 GB in the cloud.
  2. Connect local storage and originals are copied to it, freeing cloud space. Only thumbnails and the index stay in the cloud, so the gallery remains visible even when the computer is off.
  3. To connect, the computer needs enough free disk space for the whole library plus 10%.
  4. We recommend a second storage: combining CortexPlus Cloud with local storage keeps a backup copy.
  5. In the app, "In the cloud" shows what takes up your cloud space, and "Total kept" shows the whole library across all storages.

Compare the plans

Questions

Storage counts the bytes of the files you keep in the cloud. Indexed content counts the pages of text kept searchable. A video is heavy in storage and light in index; a folder of contracts is the opposite. You will usually hit one limit long before the other.
Your data stays exactly where it is — nothing is deleted. New memories that would cross the limit are held, and the app tells you which limit was reached. A Subscription lets you buy extra cloud storage or use your own local storage.
Everyone is on the Free plan for now. Paid plans are visible for planning, but upgrades and cancellations will enable when billing goes live.
No. The free plan runs on 5 GB and 25k indexed pages without a payment method.
No. Your content is embedded to make it searchable for you, and is never used to train anything. API keys scope access to your own workspace.
Family comes with the Subscription at no extra cost: up to 5 members share the owner's storage and quotas — members don't add to the limit. Extra space you buy applies to the whole family. The sharing mode is coming soon.
