Terms of Service

The service

CortexPlus is a personal memory layer: it stores the notes, tasks, files, photos, audio recordings and other memories you save, organizes and indexes them (including with AI processing), syncs them across your devices and lets you search, recall and share them — including through AI assistants you choose to connect.

We may add, change or remove features over time.

Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to use CortexPlus.
• You are responsible for keeping your password, sign-in keys and API keys confidential, and for activity that happens through them.
• Provide an e-mail address you control; it is how we reach you about your account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Break the law, infringe third-party rights, or store or share content you do not have the right to keep.
• Probe, attack or overload the service, or try to access other users’ data.
• Resell access to the service or use it to provide a competing service without permission.
• Upload malware or use the service to send spam or deceptive content.

Your content

Your memories stay yours. You keep all rights to the content you save in CortexPlus.

You grant CortexPlus a limited license to host, copy, process and transmit your content only as needed to provide and improve the service for you — for example, transcribing your audio or indexing your notes for search. We do not use your memories to train AI models and we do not sell them.

AI-generated output

Features that transcribe, describe, classify, extract or summarize content use AI models and can make mistakes. Review important results before relying on them; CortexPlus is not responsible for decisions taken on the basis of generated output.

AI assistants and integrations

You can connect third-party AI assistants (such as ChatGPT or Claude) and other integrations to your account through API keys or OAuth. When you do, the assistant can read and write the memories that connection allows, and its own terms and privacy policy apply to what it does with your data.

Health data is never shared with the OpenAI plugins (ChatGPT/Codex), regardless of your health sharing setting. You can disconnect an assistant at any time by revoking its key in Settings → API keys.

Paid plans

Some features require a paid plan. Payments are processed by Stripe; prices and limits are shown on the pricing page and may include taxes.

You can cancel your plan at any time in Settings → Billing; the plan remains active until the end of the paid period and charges are not refunded retroactively. If payment fails, the paid features may be suspended until the plan is updated.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account; deletion is immediate and also cancels any paid subscription.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service, after notice where reasonably possible.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of data loss — keep your own backups of important memories.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CortexPlus is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or, if you paid nothing, to one hundred US dollars.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; for significant changes we will notify you in the app or by e-mail. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
