# CortexPlus
CortexPlus is a personal memory assistant. Capture anything by voice, photo, text, video or file — on the web, with the iPhone shortcut, or through an AI assistant over MCP. CortexPlus classifies each capture with AI, can split one capture into several memories (for example a meal and an expense), files them into modes, and brings reminders, tasks and routines back in Highlights on the right day (Horizon controls when each memory returns). Free includes 5 GB of cloud storage. Connecting local storage through the CortexPlus desktop app and buying extra cloud storage require a Subscription. MCP and the REST API let AI assistants read and save memories.

## Modes
- All: available; everything together without a filter.
- Photos: available; a gallery by capture date, with selection and zoom on the web and Wi-Fi-only camera-roll backup on phones.
- Files: available; any attachment, with SHA-256 deduplication.
- Nutrition: available; meal photos with estimates of calories and nutrients.
- Sales: available; notes, meeting audio and business cards become clients, deals and dated follow-ups.
- Study: available; PDFs, notebook photos and lecture audio become summaries and flashcards.
- Finance: available; receipts, Pix screenshots and bills become categorized entries.
- Health: available; measurements, lab results, routines and workouts with history, private by default; AI assistants can read health data only if you allow it.
- Family: coming soon; invite members, keep personal memories, and choose what to share with the family (for example, everything or only photos). Family members share cloud space; by default, only the author can delete what they shared.

The same memory is filtered by type and tag in each mode. The selected mode is saved on the device and changes the app menu.

## Highlights and Horizon
Highlights lists the reminders, tasks and recurring or dated memories due today; complete them or mark them done for today. Horizon sets when each memory comes back: persistent (every day until done), recurring (daily, weekly or every two weeks), dated (from a chosen date) or short-term (archived automatically after a set number of days). Notifications can alert you on the day.

## Storage
CortexPlus Cloud and local storage through the CortexPlus desktop app keep copies of your originals. The macOS, Windows and Linux desktop app watches folders you choose. Files move through five states: uploading to the cloud; stored in the cloud and counted toward quota; copying to local storage; verified on local storage; then the original leaves the cloud, freeing space while the thumbnail and index remain without counting toward quota. Connecting local storage requires the whole library to fit on the computer with 10% headroom. Deleting a file in a watched folder deletes it from the account.

With the computer off, the gallery remains visible and originals in local storage show as offline until it returns. Free includes 5 GB of cloud storage. Connecting local storage and buying extra cloud storage require a Subscription.

## Photo backup
On phones, camera-roll backup uses Wi-Fi only. Each photo shows whether it is uploading, in the cloud or in local storage; after backup is confirmed, the photo can be deleted from the phone.

## Files and uploads
The per-file limit is 500 MB on Free and 10 GB on paid plans. Repeated files with the same SHA-256 are not uploaded or counted twice.
